Woodlands Masters Swim Team
Championship Relay Meet
Saturday, January 9, 2010
Date: Saturday, January 9, 2010. Warm up opens at
9:00 am, Meet starts at 10:30 am.
Location: Conroe ISD Natatorium, 19133 David

Facilities: Competition will be held in the 67
meter double bulk-headed pool. The 25 yard competition course is
eight nine foot lanes. During the meet, lanes will be available in
the adjacent 25 yard course for warm up and warm down.
Eligibility: Participants must be 18 years old as
of the day of the meet. You may enter with the group you swim with.
Although this meet is not a sanctioned event, Conroe ISD requires
that all swimmers be registered with USMS. Therefore, it is
mandatory that every swimmer be registered with United States
Masters Swimming. Cards will be checked prior to gaining access to
the pool. Single Event Registration will be available for those who
need to register the day of the Meet. However, competitors are
encouraged to register with USMS for the full year –
it’s the better deal.
Rules: United States Masters Swimming Rules for
short course. Strict observance of Natatorium policies (see next
page).
Age Groups: 18+, 35+, 50+. The age group for each
relay is determined by the youngest swimmer on the relay.
Scoring: The meet is a timed finals meet. Points
(18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2) are awarded for the top eight finishers in
each age group. No points are awarded for fun relays.
Awards: Awards will be announced at the
conclusion of the Meet and are as follows:
• High point team – Men
• High point team – Women
• High point team – Combined
• High point team – Most points per
swimmer
A nameplate will be engraved to be included on a permanent plaque
that is displayed at the Natatorium.
T-Shirts: Relay Meet T-shirts will be available
for sale the day of the Meet.
Entries: Fees are $12.00 per Relay excluding the
fun relays and are due the day of the Meet. Each participant may
swim a maximum of five events excluding the fun relays. There is no
limit on the number of relays per event. Team Rosters, Team
Registration Forms, and Relay Entries are due to the Meet Director
electronically by Sunday, January 3rd. The preferable format is
Meet Manager, but an Excel Spreadsheet is acceptable (sample
attached). Changes in relays may be made until 9:30 am on the day
of the Meet (January 9th)
