[1] Practice Changes for NEXT
Week:
The CISD
Natatorium will be closed part of next week. Practice times and
locations for the next week:
Tuesday December 22: 12:00pm at CISD, and
7:00pm at Northampton
Wednesday, December 23: 5:30am and 12:00pm will
be at Northampton
Thursday, December 24: 5:30am and 12:00pm at
Northampton
Friday, December 25: No Practice! Merry
Christmas!
There are additional practice changes the week after Christmas
that will be announced in next weeks email and also posted on the
home page of our website: www.wmst.net.

Meet! At the CISD Natatorium on Saturday, January
9, 2010. Warm up opens at 9:00 am, Meet starts at 10:30
am.
This is a
fun meet for ALL swimmers. For those who are new to swim meets,
this is
the perfect meet to get acquainted with a
masters swim meet. For more information, visit

[4] 2010 USMS
Registration: Every WMST member must renew
before December 31st! Only those swimmers who renew their 2010
registration by January 1 will be on the coaches attendance sheet
for January. The Natatorium policy is for our swimmers to be USMS
registered since it is our insurance against accidents. If you are
not on the roster on January 1, you will not be allowed to swim at
a practice until you have proof of your 2010 USMS registration.
For those swimmers who joined WMST prior to
November 1, unfortunately, you must also renew your USMS
membership, since only the 2009 registration was offered before
that date.
To renew your registration for USMS for 2010
please visit

and choose the online registration option
Alternatively, you can visit the WMST website
www.wmst.net and go to the USMS Renew
tab and follow the instructions.
For those swimmers who prefer the paper system
of USMS registration, please download and print out this 2010 form

The 2010 copy on the Gulf website does not
include the $10.00 WMST 2010 club fee in the dues.

before a new punch card will be issued.

Swimming 101/201 Clinic
WHEN:Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 -
11:30 at the CISD Natatorium starting on Tuesday, January
19th
COST:
Current WMST Swimmer: $75.00 for the
8-week clinic. If you would like to participate in other WMST
workouts, you must continue your monthly/punch card WMST dues.
There will be no extra lanes during this time slot for WMST
swimmers who are not enrolled in Swimming 101/201
New Swimmers: $140 for the 8-week clinic:
$90 for the 8-week clinic, plus $50 for 2010 USMS registration
fee
How to register for Swimming 101/201:
Current WMST Swimmers: Please email wmst@wmst.net
with your name and method of payment (check, or charge to online
account). Or, login to your account and push the "Attend This
Event" button. Using either method, you should receive a
confirmation email within a few days. If you do not hear from us,
please let us know.
New Swimmers: Please email wmst@wmst.net
with your name, address, and contact information. You should
receive a confirmation email with more details.
[6] PUNCH CARD
Swimmers: Due to issues surrounding "missed"
punches on punch cards for those swimmers who forget their punch
card or do not have punches remaining on their card, WMST is
implementing a new system using a sign-in sheet.
WMST policy has always been that anyone on a
PUNCH CARD system should expect to pay the drop-in fee of $8.00
when they do not have their punch card. For those who do not have
cash to pay the drop-in fee, the coaches now have a sign-in sheet
that a Punch Card user can sign, authorizing
WMST to charge the drop-in fee of $8.00 to the
swimmer's account.
[7] WMST Upcoming
events - Mark your calendars for the following
days! More details will be provided as each event gets
closer:
December 19th - WMST Annual Christmas Party at
Dave Smalley's home.
January 9th - WMST 27th Annual Woodlands Relay
Meet at the Natatorium. Please note that this meet is much earlier
than previous years, due to pool availability
January 19th - Start of WMST Swimming 101/201
Course
February 27th - Go the Extra Mile meet at the
Natatorium. Triathletes will also be invited to attend this meet.
Only distance events such as the 400 meter and the 1500 meter
freestyle will be offered.
April 9 -11 - WMST will host the South Central
Zone Short Course Championships at the Natatorium
[8] A reminder to all swimmers: Please collect your card AFTER
EACH practice and give you card to the coach on deck at each
practice BEFORE entering the water.
